The Event Summer 2010

This summer semester was amazing in every way: While the weather was still cold in the beginning of the semester we steamed it up on the 22nd March at the Carpé with our “Welcome Summer Semester 2010” event. It was great to have all IM students together and welcome them in the new semester. Especially for IM-2 it was a wonderful possibility to exchange experiences with the higher semesters about studying abroad. Everyone knows that choosing the right country and university is a difficult challenge, so it was nice to be able to ask more experienced students for advice.

IM The Club and other university societies helped to make this year’s International Week of the UAS Deggendorf more memorable: We organize a barbeque event on campus which was a great success thanks to our many volunteers. Students, professors and guests alike enjoyed our grilled sausages and steaks.

Perfect sunshine, warm weather: The perfect condition for our IM Get Together Barbque on the 10th June 2010. We were glad to see so many students at the shore of the river Donau and have some grilled food and refreshing beverages together. We talked, laughed and had fun the whole evening long and it was great to experience again our IM family spirit together with our youngest and oldest semesters.

Of course, we also helped on the IM Alumni Event with many volunteers in order to make it unforgettable for all participants.

As we had many nice feedbacks about our last IM Bowling in 2009, we invited all our members to another round of bowling this semester! It was a good chance to relax a little bit before the exams and so we did: Many students accepted our invitation and came to have an evening full of fun at the bowling center.

And finally we used the opportunity on the traditional “IM2-end-of-semester-lunch” to present the first results of a long planed and carefully prepared project: An own International Management college sweater! Many people dedicated a lot of their time, even during the exam phase to make this vision come true – so, we were glad to see that so many people registered to buy a sweater and shared our idea about showing commitment and dedication to the IM family with a sweater of our own. At the beginning of the winter semester we will present the sweater again to the newest members of our IM family and all other students who didn’t had the opportunity to see it at the launch. It is wonderful to have so many positive feedbacks and to see that all the efforts are appreciated by the IM community.

This semester ended as good as it had begun: It was a true success for IM The Club as we participated actively in the life at our university, brought forward internal projects and organized many different events to get together.

We like to thank all of you who shared all wonderful moments with us, helped and supported us in many ways and always showed great interest in our work. Special thanks go to our great event team, Stefanie Eibl and Kim Plinke, as well as to our president Jennifer Hauer. Without their dedication and hard work all this would not have been possible.

The entire board whishes you the very best for your semester break, enjoy yourself, relax from the stress of the last month and we are more than eager to welcome you back safe and sound in October for the winter semester 2010/2011!

IM The Club Barbeque Team

During the International Week at our University we organized a barbeque on campus. Hundreds of steaks and sausages where offered to all students who took the opportunity to inform themselves about studying and working abroad, different cultures all around the world and many, many other things.

Many people enjoyed our barbeque and didn’t let their appetite been spoiled by the bad weather.

Our special thanks go to all members of IM The Club who passionately grilled, served and sold and even danced to music on our barbeque event.

Dear IMTC members!

The board likes to thank you for the great winter semester.

It was fun to get to know you all at our “get togethers”. We were also very enthusiastic to see that a lot of you followed our invitation to the IM Bowling event.

We all enjoyed the merry time of Christmas by going to the Christkindlmarkt and serving you some hot Glühwein on campus. It was great to see that a lot of people came to our traditional Nikolaus Party and our annual IM Christmas Reception. Thank you all for your participation, especially for bringing delicious food to the reception.

The special thanks of the IMTC board goes to those who dedicated their time to help us organize, plan and support our event.

All our activities weren’t possible without the good cooperation of our President, Jennifer Hauer and our Head of Events, Stefanie Eibl. Both supervised and coordinated all of the events we enjoyed together. They showed a high degree of dedication and commitment to the IM Family – Thank you!

In this semester we were glad to have a great support from our formal board and the semester seven. They brought our club forward by coaching and guiding us and sharing their experience in quality circle meetings.

In this post we also want to say goodbye to our third semesters. The board and the whole IM family wish you a great time and a lot of fun abroad!

Have a great break and enjoy your free time! We are eager to welcome you all back safe and sound for the summer semester!

Yours,

The IMTC Board

Quality circle

November 24th, 2009

The IM the Club Board would like to inform you about the quality circle which was held on November 9th. The former and the present members of the board discussed and defined new standards for the club. We worked out the basic ideas and the vision of our organization. Moreover the board members focused on improvement of organization and structure of IM the Club e.V.

With some coachwork of IM 3 and IM 7 students we plan to reorganize certain structures and to do our best to make IM the Club an important and helpful organization which brings all IM students together and helps to share our experiences.  Our first steps on this path we be to improve the information given on our website and to update the world map, thus making ImTheClub.com more valuable to our members. In the future all members of the club should be able to use the world map and look up the right person that could give more information about a certain country. Furthermore some outcoming events are planned and will be taking place in December. All members are going to be informed on time.

Everyone who wants to contribute to IM the Club e.V., has some ideas to improve our club or wants to share any other ideas is most welcome to contact any board member of his or her choice!
